Porterbuilt C-Notches

I just ordered some Porterbuilt C-Notches for my '69. Anyone else use them? How was the install? Ever tow anything after you installed them?

Re: Porterbuilt C-Notches

I like mine. Well built. Not really a tow rig, but I wouldn't be scared of it. Get a good drill and bit ready.

Re: Porterbuilt C-Notches

I always hear "dont tow after installing a c notch" guess the notch weakens the frame even if only slightly. But i also knkw several people that do it without thinking twice. Those damn rivets can be a pain

Re: Porterbuilt C-Notches

Most companies say don't tow just for legal reasons if anything happens. But i know some with slammed duallies that tow daily with them no problems at all.

Re: Porterbuilt C-Notches

Porterbuilt builds quality product. You can rest easy that you will be pleased with the product and the service after the sale.

There is no doubt that a C-notch will weaken your frame at the point that is cut. However, the boxing and bracing that comes with most C-notch kits will over come those issues.

I have had several trucks with C-notches that I have used for towing small trailers and open car haulers with never an issue on the frame.
