Re: How rare ????????
1970 was the last year of the panel truck
I do not have the production numbers but I assume they were going down as they could have kept them for 2 more years good originals are very hard to find...and sell from 10 to 20000 dollars Lots of projects in the 1000 to 2000 dollar range |

Condition and factory options will also affect the price.

Re: How rare ????????
Not many made.Rare year isn't as big a deal as rare mdel.If you find a K code one that really was a factory 4X4.Options started at a Passenger seat and Visor so anything above that is pretty much an option. Most I have seen were 6 cyl or V8 with 3OTT and passenger seats.I know there were some auto's.I've never seen one with factory PS or PB.Most I have seen had HD springsand I have only personally seen one 3/4 and it was a factory K code(it was at CAF and the paint was so fresh all I could smell was the offgassing).I'm sure there were other colors but all of the interiors I have ever seen were sandalwood/whatever the other sand looking color was.IIRC production was around 5500 a year for 1/2 and 1000 a year for 3/4 with less than 100 K series for all years though K was only available for 67-68 years.
In a nutshell that's a bit of the skinny on the panels.

Re: How rare ????????
And even then, rare isn't really important on these old trucks. It's not like it's a COPO Camaro or an old racing Ferrari. Rare or not, the panel feature on these trucks don't add value in my opinion.

Re: How rare ????????
That's cool to see. I'm amazed how fewer 4x4s were built versus the 2wds.

Re: How rare ????????
It makes sense though. How many 4x4 cargo vans do you see today compared to 2wd cargo vans? Panel trucks were the cargo vans back then.

Re: How rare ????????
I suspect the survival rate for subs was a lot higher than panels...most panels were base work trucks while many suburbans were personal vehicles.
I have seen lots of factory big block /tach/tilt/air subs I am still looking for an original big block air panel;according to the brochures most sub options were available on a panel...somebody must have ordered a full load panel for a race car tow vehicle.... If anyone has one it would be a rare vehicle.... |

Re: How rare ????????
My `70 panel was owned by a plumbing business, all the little dents are from the inside. It sat in the basement of an apartment building for about 18 years where they used it to store tools and junk. Straight 6, powerglide, radio delete, lucky they had 2 seats and heat i guess.
