Re: 1968 4/6 drop questions
I verified that the rims are 10" wide in the back. I can't seem to find where the backspace is etched on the back of the spokes but will keep looking. I have maybe half an inch of clearance between the tire and bed on each side. The outer fender clearance is a bit less. Lowering the rear has moved the rear tire back over an inch so it does not sit centered in the wheel well. Any clearance issues are now going to be at the back fender lip now. So far I have no indication of any rub or bump stop issues. This tire/wheel combination pretty much fills up the rear fender well space on a step side.. Hope this info helps.

Quote:
As far as the wheels go, you will likely have to pull a wheel and measure it. Many people stick with an 8.5" or 9" wide wheel and a 265 width on a step side to ensure adequate clearance. With a 69 and earlier rear end and depending on wheel width a 5" to 5.25" bs works well and with the longer 70 and up rear end a 5.5" bs works well.
