Water pump question
Morning fellas, I have a question about my water pump. What is a for sure way to tell if the water pump is on it's way out?? The truck does not over heat or leak but it does make a hissing noise up front how do I tell if it needs to be replaced?? or is it the belt that needs to be replaced?? thanks for any info

Re: Water pump question
Might be the belt, put some belt dressing on the belt and see if the hissing goes away.

Re: Water pump question
Get one of these: Nothing works better at isolating where weird noises are coming from. Never heard a water pump make a hissing noise. Are you sure it's not a vacuum leak, or maybe your radiator cap?

Re: Water pump question
I would look for something that is sucking air. The hose to my PVC came loose and it made a horrible hissing noise.
