Air Selector Duct Replacement

I am replacing the orig. air selector duct, As original has broken air director flap. Control cable has a clip that hold it to air director flap. LMC does not provide clip with new air selector duct. Is there a way to get original off with out destroying it so I can reuse it or where might i get another retainer clip?

Re: Air Selector Duct Replacement

Yes that little "star" keeper will come off without too much effort and can be reused. Don't loose it because you will have a heck of a time finding a replacement. They do sell a "variety" pack at parts stores but I have yet to find one that will fit correctly without modification. I finally went to a salvage yard.

Good luck!

Re: Air Selector Duct Replacement

Yes I thought about hardware store. But hoped I could get old one off, which I was able to do by kind of unscrewing it up the shaft. No harm no fowl. The LMC replacement part I got of course has a smaller diameter shaft. Am know going to attempt to repair the original air selector duct, just hate to use non original parts if I don't have to. Will let you know how that goes.
