I personally wouldn't shave the door handles unless I was doing suicide doors. It's too much of an 80's and 90's thing. I've had shaved handles on a truck in the 90's and is never do it again. The ONE time you get locked out with a dead battery or a broken cable release is enough to make u never want them again.

All these fads come and go. I remember when it was cool to put a then New style CHevy 88 up step side bed on theses trucks. Then all the custom futuristic looking interior with built in center console, upholstered everything custom dash etc. Now its cutting the frame, suspension and body up so you can lower the truck for some reason to the ground and put giant 24 rims. Some day that will look stupid too. One thing for sure original trucks are what hold their value, and what most go back to in the end. Now if I could only talk myself into just doing that!
