Serpentine conversion problem
In the process of converting over to the 96 and up style serpentine brackets. Went to test fit the ac compressor bracket and it won't work. Interferes with the valve covers. Didn't really realize the valve covers I have we're tal but I am hoping they are. Quick measurement showed them to be 3" tall. Any ideas in replacements? These things weren't cheap either.

Re: Serpentine conversion problem
Why dont you shave the bracket to clear the valve cover?

Re: Serpentine conversion problem
I am going to try and do that this afternoon. I can shave a good bit off. Only thing i am minorly concerned about is then mounting the compressor. I think the back end of the compressor is going to interfere slightly with the top of the covers. I might be able to shave down the compressor just a tiny bit as well. Would there be any issues with stacking a couple of washers under the mounting posts for the compressor to raise it just a slight amount? Surely the belt can absorb the pulley being raised a 1/2" or so.

Re: Serpentine conversion problem
Maybe dimple the valve cover as well for clearance if at all possible?

Re: Serpentine conversion problem
Will it fit on he other side? That is they way mine is set up and I have plenty of room. I'm using the GM performance set up if that helps.
