5 lug axle question?

Looking to find out if 5 lug axles from a 71 will swap out into my 6 lug 67 rear end?

Thanks for the help,
Pete

Nope, the 6 lug rear housing is too short. The 5 lug shafts are longer than the 6 lug shafts. Bes bet is to find a complete rear end and swap out.

or buy the Early Classic adapter axles that fit right into your existing houising.

What jmanz said is the gospel. 71-2 rears are wider than yours. Switch the whole unit or nothing (fabricating spacers to go behind the brakes is possible though, just not real easy for most guys)

what they said, or you can take yours to a machine shop, have them weld up the holes and re drill them to 5 bolt.
