Ebay Deal Yes/No?
Need some help guys. I just got my truck running after three years of a build. I have 1500 miles on it now and realized 2 things.
1. The transmission pan leaks (It is a TH-350 directly from TCI) 2. I don't have a flex plate cover I called TCI and even though I had only 1500 miles they would not warranty anything because it was over 3 years ago. So I went on this website and came up empty. So I checked eBay. I found this deal... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Chrome...3b2e2a&vxp=mtr Its only 35 plus 14 for shipping....I am a firm believer that if its to good to be true than it usually is....Any comments or concerns would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks... |

Re: Ebay Deal Yes/No?
if you want chrome and don't overtighten the pan, it will probably work fine. You may be able to get your current pan to not leak with a little hammer work and new gasket. If it's leaking, it is likely you've over-tightened it (or have you ever even had it off?? perhaps TCI over-tightened it...)?
Also - make SURE it's the pan before you order a new one - sometimes it's a more serious leak that drips down to, then from, the pan. If only 1500 miles in >3 years, the gasket may have dry rotted. But then again, with all the chemicals from crop dusters in the air in Hanford, that gasket should last 50 years.... |

Re: Ebay Deal Yes/No?
My 2 cents worth.....
I struggled for some time with a leaky TH350. It was a combination of the pan and the shifter seal that were leaking. I bought a B&M deep aluminum pan and the excellent cork/rubber gasket they supply worked great! I did put some sealer on it but I think it would have sealed fine without it. I also replaced the shift seal...no more transmission leaks. Engine still leaks though! I also recently had a leaky transmission pan in my C20 with the TH400. I put on a Moroso gasket from Jegs and it sealed beautifully. I also have a TCI chrome pan on it. Here is the link for the gaskets: http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/93102/10002/-1
