Re: best rear-end gear for TH-700R4/28" tire combo?

I'm sure that at the rate I have been going Chris, you will have had a set of 3.42's in, an will have thoroughly tested them long before I am actually ready for them!

Re: best rear-end gear for TH-700R4/28" tire combo?

I have a 4.11 and a 700r with 30 inch tires. I can cruise at 75 no problems at all. I'm guessing about 2300 or so (the speedo is off).

If it's for fun (mine is) you can't beat the 4.11's, but if you are going to drive it a lot, probably the 3.73 would work better.

But when the tires hook up, hold on as 1st, 2nd and most of 3rd puts right in the seat. I can bark the tires 2nd to 3rd at 70+ mph.

Re: best rear-end gear for TH-700R4/28" tire combo?

Glad I found this thread, looking to swap my 308 for some 373 this week. My motor has plenty of poop to shred the tires out of the hole, but hold onto 3rd gear well over 100 mph as the 308 are just to tall to get a 4th gear shift. Hoping the 373 will allow for all 4 gears to hit under hard acceleration.
