Seat Covers for Burbs?
What are you guys using? I'm just looking for all three to match and them to be cheap. Problem I'm finding is that the don't cover the back of the bench seat. Which we all know looks funny because you can see the back of all three of the burb bench seats.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
Non covered back on bench seat = Pick up cover, not Suburban.
There are companies out there making covers for the two sizes of bench seats, and they do have the backs on the cover. Trouble is... Most are not YOM correct. Seems most makers think that every 67-72 burb came with 1969 covers. Good luck finding a maker that puts together a correct 67-68 cover, let alone a custom comfort optioned 67-68 cover. Or, you can go with the generic hounds tooth covers... They look nice, but to me they are about as exciting as 1980's tweed covers. Doing 3 bench seats is expensive, no matter which route you take on covers. But, if I am going to spend that kind of coin I want it correct for the year of Suburban I am ordering for.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
You should shoot Truckseats a PM. He has some really nice covers. Maybe he can have his guy add a back to a truck seat if you are looking for a stockish look.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
All that vectorit said is true. There is nothing inexpensive about a seat covers for the burbs. The original materials are expensive. The scroll work in the middle panels is better left off. I am having 3 bench seats done for my 71 with the custom deluxe materials. I might have my original scrolls sewn into the covers or I might pack them away to save.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
I'm just looking for a decent AutoZone special, but you're right the back will be showing.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
I currently just have a mexican blanket on the 67 bench I put in my 72. It's open back, but no one seems to mind. Still has the original cover which is cracking, hence the blanket.
But I bet you could get a saddle blanket cover, and then find a similar looking Mexican blanket, and just use some safety pins to cover the back of the seats.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
Mexican blankets are cheap. You can cover the back first, and then put another one over the front so it overlaps a little in the back.
Whatever you decide its gonna come out great. You have a good eye for these builds.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
Well, where I work there are alot of gray blankets. My carpet is gray, so I think I can get a few blankets on the cheap if not free. There are two types there. One has kind of a mexican feel to it. The other is very thin and just charcoal gray.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
I dont remember the spacing from the back of the front seat to the front of the second seat (did that make sense? lol) But I wonder if you could build something that attaches to the rear of the front seat with some sort of folding tray table (like an airplane). Something for your kiddos to use while you are out cruising around with the family.

Re: Seat Covers for Burbs?
Maybe, I might have to go with the flip down TV's like Jeff has . Just kidding. They'll have to entertain themselves by talking or reading. Weird that kids today would do that. I have those things in my wife's van, but I wouldn't want them in my burb. Of course, I say that now.
