Just one of the many reasons why this message board rocks!
My dad had a '65 GMC 3/4 ton stepside - I learned how to drive using that truck. In the mid 70's the column shift developed a problem - shifting from 1st to second would result in the linkage jamming and the transmission remained in 1st - you'd have to pull over, get out of the truck and monkey with the linkage to free it up.
My recently acquired '67 GMC developed this problem - low and behold, I find this thread on this website: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=215307 It took me all of 10 minutes to re-adjust the shift linkage - problem solved!!! Thanks to all the folk that have contributed their knowledge here!!!! |
