Wink Doing the 6.0 lq9 Swap!

So im throwing my rebuild small block 350 an turbo 350 up on the ol CL then going to pick up a 6.0 lq9 and 4l80e for my 71' I have about 1400$ so this will be either a donor pick up I buy or a salvage yard motor. Anyone who has done the swap have any advice ? Any Regrets ? and as far as Wiring What can I do to make it as Easy as possible ? And I hear you can use the stock motor mount brackets ?

Check out the LSX Swap section on the forums, there's more info there than you'll ever need! All the questions you have and haven't even thought of are answered there.

I found it also helps to read through some build threads to get an idea of what works and what doesn't.

As far as engine mounts go, the selection is endless. You can use original V8 stands, 6-cylinder stands, 73-87 V8 stands, or many aftermarket stands. For adapters there are quite a few choices too.

FYI, not all combinations of mounts/stands work with all transmissions.

For example: With the 4l80e you cannot use 6-cyl stands with 1" setback plates if you have a low hump floor, the transmission won't clear!
