HELP!!! Starter Problem

Well went to replace my starter today, seeing how it sounds like a grinder is down there. When I got the start off I noticed that my block was cracked at the.bolt hole for the outside bolt. My question is, is there anyway to fix this in the truck or does it have to be pulled? The spot where metal is missing is cracked up both sides.

Re: HELP!!! Starter Problem

Can you post a pic of where it's cracked?

A good shop might be able to weld the crack and save it but I doubt they will do it with the engine in the truck. Wouldn't hurt to ask though.
