Re: Gmc c60 1988
I'm not sure, but that seems like a real nice original heavy truck in real nice condition.
You have something pretty special there. Bill

Mr. DG
A 1988 GMC 7000 has a front track of 81 inch, center of tire to center of tire. I hope this helps. What are your plans? Flat67 |

Re: Gmc c60 1988
Ok thank for the specs .Flat 67
but the 1988 is to wide for my 1959 because me I have 71 inch so that is 10 inch extra for the 1988 . I wanted to buy a 1988 c60 and remove the body to install my 1959 body on it . like that I would have newer mechanic , brake ,diff ,tire etc.. all in one shot . Is a 1988 C60 is the same as a 1988 GMC 7000 ? |

Re: Gmc c60 1988
DG, you may still be able to update your truck. There was a post on here about C-60 axle/suspension. While the track is no good for you, the spindles, brakes and such MAY swap. If the axle weight rating is the same you may be able to do it. The rear axles, I can't say for sure. You have a nice looking truck. I had a similar, but bigger 59 a few years ago. It was a 348/5speed/2/speed setup. It was a 10400 series. Wish I never got rid of that thing.

Re: Gmc c60 1988
There are several spring rating, but a C60 is the same as a GMC 7000.
Also like mrolds88 said , have you considered narrowing the front axle? Check out this YouTube video about a company called Kelderman on a project by Stacy David on Gears. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=woUdGkOsQco |

Re: Gmc c60 1988
Actually what I wqas thinking was to swap the newer spindle units onto the original axle.
