LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
Hey guys... I have a question, I just made my first purchase to start to bring some clean lines to my truck, the eyebrow moldings on my truck are dented and banged up pretty bad so i ordered both sides from lmctruck.com, the service was great, shipping super quick and priced on par with other sites but i just got the moldings and well... um... they seem very, cheap, weak, flimsy, made in Taiwan, etc etc I am not trying to bash lmc but should I return these and try diff company?? Brothers, Yearone, is there a better quality of products or just diff companys selling the same stuff??.. who do you use and why?? Thanks for the help

A lot of the stuff is the same, some is not (weatherstripping especially). Your best bet is to buy from GMCPaul or Classicheartbeat (Wes). That way you will be sure you get the best possible part every time and not have to guess.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I do my research and see who is offering the best quality, which is far more important to me than cost. In the same part offered by several vendors...which is most parts,I shop to find the best price. But...I also consider their track record on customer service and there are some I would only deal with if there were no choice. I try to patronize my most local board supporting vendor as a standard practice...unless they don't offer what I want. The one thing I never do is simply go with the largest, most advertised, heaviest marketed outfit ,such as the ones mentioned, before looking around.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I have ordered quite a few things from Classic Parts and so far they were all good. LMC is hit and miss it seems on their stuff's quality.
I got an inner fender from "Partsgeek", the price was great, the shipping was cheap and the inner fender fit great. I tried ordering from Brother's and often the parts were back ordered. GMC Paul and ClassicHeartbeat are a couple of good ones with great service and knowledge of these trucks.

This is the local supplier here in Las Vegas. I don't buy many parts anymore, but they're my go-to for truck stuff.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I buy from Classic Parts, Early Classic Enterprises, GMC Pauls, Ecklers, and Brothers.
I will only buy from LMC if they are the last resort. The quality can be all over the place and the customer service sucks if you need help on something. Classic Parts and Brothers have both been slow, and Brothers misquoted shipping on a tailgate severely. I called for a quote, specifically because I was concerned about shipping costs. They called back a week later and asked for more $$$$. I was not impressed. ECE has been great, and I order everything I can through them. I only ordered from GMC Pauls once for new brake lines, but it was fast and a great experience.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
Hello, I live in Argentina. I've placed orders in LMC. The customer service is not bad and communicated in the form nice to me. I realized that Most of the articles of LMC are not made in the USA, almost everything of Asian origins. I understand it is very difficult to get NOS components. Greetings to everyone . Juan M.

Try Classic Parts of America, awesome guys and its locally owned here in KC. Try Manes Truck Parts (67-72 chevy trucks ). Ron Mane loves these trucks as much as we do. His place is in Sedelia, Missouri.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I am certain that I am going to be returning the moldings I purchased from LMC, Hopefully that wont be a painful experence, the pieces I bought are just not what I would put on anything I care about.. I would rather go with my bent, dinged up moldings before putting junk on my truck, I Will update and let everyone know how LMC responds to my return and will start looking at some of the other companies mentioned. In the mean time any more leads for a company for quality chrome or molding replacements would be awesome. Thanks guys

I live in Lenexa, KS and can be at the LMC counter in about 10 minutes. But unless I'm in a bind on a the weekend (LMC is open Saturday and Sunday) I'll drive across town to Classic Parts. The guys at the counter know what they're talking about, I've had better luck with the parts I bought there and the showroom is a LOT cooler!

For bed parts or moldings,Mar-K is it! They make what they sell where they ship from...right here in the USA.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
Hi all! Can I add in to the conversation? I hear "Classic" mentioned quite a few times. I know there is "Classic Parts" in Kansas and "Classic Industries" in California. Can anyone contribute to how these compare on parts quality, shipping, and customer service. I'm especially looking for the outer cab edge that the rocker connects up to right now. Thanks!

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I don't have a lot of experience with Classic Industries but quite a bit with Classic parts. Other than some frustrating backorder issues but with who knows how many of us are ordering from about 5 good companies in the country.
That said, I have never had quality issues from Classic Parts, or Brothers'. I would order from Brothers' more often but from where I am, shipping is generally cheaper from Classic. LMC hasn't heard from me for almost 10 years and I intend to keep it that way.

Re: LMC?? Brothers?? who is your aftermarket go to company?
I ordered about $1200 of parts from Classic Industries about 2 years ago. Mostly stuff under $50 each. Everything was good and they were offering 20% off with free shipping. Some things were backordered, but they shipped them individually as they became available. I wasn't in a rush for anything, so that was fine with me. The tilt levers were not quite right, and they prompty refunded my money. I'd recommend them.

I contacted LMC today about my moldings and they said I had 180 days to return them with no issue. The woman on the phone was polite and offered a quick apology. If the need arises i would give LMC another shot..just not on anything shiny .... while I have your attention I am going to Hijack my own thread... hehehe... anyone have a good source for a replacement carpet,, summit racing is having a great deal on lund industries replacement carpet for $150.00 bucks to the door and I can get a Brothers for $170.34 to the door ... any recommendations would be awesome

I got my carpet from Rock Auto. Several people recommended the particular brand, and Rock Auto was the cheapest place that carried it.
