I'm interested.....I'm wanting to upgrade from my trucks 12 bolt to a Dana 60 but was also hoping to find one for a coil spring truck. Since grinding off and welding new saddles isn't that big of job my question comes to this. I'm not familiar with converting 8 lug type rears. Can this be converted to a 5x5 lug with just new axles...and I'm guessing, brakes? Also is this a narrower width rear or the wider version?

Kurt, Coops bought this from me and picked it up at Pate swap meet back in April. The thread got old and I guess I forgot, Sorry I did not post in the thread that it was gone. On the conversion, the lug pattern is on the drum, the axles slide thru the hub and get bolted in from the outside ends. I would think getting the rear center hub to fit a wheel with a 5X5 lug pattern would be the bigest obsticle.

While on the topic,the reason I'd want a coil spring housing is you need to provide a mount for the panhard bar. And,yes,you can change these over to 5-lug but it ain't cheap. Mark Williams sets these up any way you want. www.markwilliams.com

Yup, you're gonna need a 2wd coil sprung 3/4 ton rear to get the panhard mount thats integrally cast into the carrier housing. Here's just a gutted housing, but missing the special stud that's pressed into the housing which the panhard bar bolts to. That studs gotta be just as hard to find as the rear itself, I think its bigger diameter than 1/2 ton. Another option is to go with an aftermarket adjustable panhard bar setup that bolts the mount onto the axle tube instead.
