spent two weekends.
clean up and chase low oil psi.
closed all oil leaks off.(so far)
$15 oil filter, hi vol pump, new oil psi gauge, and changed the port from top of motor to down below, plus some lucas oil thickener to go with the new 20-50.
result? 40-60 psi in cruise mode....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/i...aah.gif....and up from 5 psi to 10 psi at idle in gear at temp.
i think con rods are questionable as all the mains show no wear and nice consistent .002 clearance and are all clean with no galling. the oil pan was surprisingly clean, only 3 little grains of carbon.
