1946 Chevy - Front Sub Frame
Hello Everyone
We're restoring a 1946 Chevy Truck and are looking at front subframes for modern handling. We have heard they are using the Crown Victoria for the Fords. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what modern subframes would fit a 1946? Thank you for your help. I have a photo of the truck attached. Jennifer |

Hi, welcome to the forum
Flat Out Engineering makes a weld in front IFS crossmember as well as Progressive Automotive and they both have kits for idependant rear suspension as well if you are planning on going that route. Here are the links: www.progressiveautomotive.com www.flatout-engineering.com Hope that helps! |

Re: 1946 Chevy - Front Sub Frame
Crown Vic is going to be too wide for this year of truck. If you want to use a full front sub-frame on a budget look into into S-10 trucks. Otherwise there are a lot of companies that make Mustang II front suspension cross members that weld onto the stock frame.

Re: 1946 Chevy - Front Sub Frame
Depending on your budget you may be able to use a full late 80s S-10 suspension (redoing body mounts), mid 70s nova or firebird front clips.
