Late model caps on 6 lug M/T Challengers?

My daughter wanted some slots for her '68 4x4 project, and I ended up finding a mint set of Mickey Thompson Challenger rims at a decent price. They only problem is they don't have any center caps. I can order M/T replacements, but I saw another member's truck with these wheels but in 8 lug. Does anyone know if the 6 log centers will work on these?

Are you talking about the 73-87 rally center caps? If so, you'd need to drill 3 holes and tap them as to attach to the wheel. Not sure about any other late model cap that may work.

Re: Late model caps on 6 lug M/T Challengers?

If you meant to ask is 8-lug centers will work, the answer is no. You can use GM centers as mentioned above. Most centers made for 5-6 lug alloy aftermarket wheels should work. Personally,on a 4wd I like no center caps. The front hardly matters anyway (centers just cover the side of the hub) and it just looks tough. I paint the drum/hub gloss black and it acts as an accent, just like the slots. Most center caps have a tendency to rattle after so many tire rotations, anyway, and for years all you could get were cheezy chrome that rusted and detracted from the appearance. So,I got used to the no center cap look. A 4wd is supposed to have a rugged edge anyway...in my book.

those are very cool wheels, I have them in 8 lug on my '03 GMC, but I have never looked for the "correct" type of caps
