99 C1500 suburban master cylinder replacement
Anything special I need to know besides the flair wrench for the lines? Do I need to disconnect the hose going to the brake booster before taking off the master cylinder?
Thanks guys |

Torque might be kinda high on the brake lines - so be prepared - but grab that flare wrench and get to work! Bench bleed (either with a bleeder kit, or gravity) your new master cylinder before putting it on the truck. K

Re: 99 C1500 suburban master cylinder replacement
Ok. Installed MC. Brake pedal still "almost" going to the floor. It's better than it was. I bled these things exactly 23 times. I got a steady stream so I'm assuming no air in the line.
The only thing I havent done is check each wheel but I dont see anything wet anywere. Did I miss something? |

Ok checked each wheel. Nothing wet. Went through and bled brakes at each wheel. Front brakes took forever for fluid to come out. Almost like it was restricted. Finally got it coming out.
Pedal still feels spongy. Sitting for a long time at a red light is a little scary. Kinda start to hear a growling sound. Any ideas what the heck is up besides the fact that the brakes on this vehicle come standard from the factory as being too small!!!! |
