What's your dream truck?

My kids keep giving me grief, but after having everything from blown Pro Street trucks, to lifted 4x4s, the one truck I would love to find is a stock 67-72 short bed with a 292 and a 3 on the tree, and A/C. Maybe it's nostalgia, or the love of simplicity, but I would kill to find one like this to use as an everyday driver. What truck would be your end all, and why?

Re: What's your dream truck?

I'm thinking a '67 CST big back window, short fleet, all trim, big block, original paint, ac, buddy buckets, ps/pb, wood bed, any color will do...

Re: What's your dream truck?

Besides my 03 Duramax...
I am about to build it! 70SWB. 5.3 4L60E. Lowered a little. Since I don't need the 70 as a truck, it will be my cruiser. Date nite machine with the wifey. That is until I build her 74 Stingray and my F5 Cobra.

Re: What's your dream truck?

I guess it would have to be a all black 1972 short fleet Chevy Cheyenne Super 4 x 2 with a 402 and auto trans with 3:08's, posi, wood bed floor, black and white houndstooth buckets, console and every option that was available in 1972. A very close toss up would be a 1968 CST with same options only in a medium blue with the white roof and body side moulding.

Re: What's your dream truck?

Don't hate me but mine is a pro-street 1940 Ford Pic-um-up. There's just something about that body style with over sized meats under the bed. Of course it would be bowtie powered. Then again, I am kind of partial to my '71 shortbed Cheyenne Super 4x4. One day when I get it back together with the 1970 LT1 Z28 motor in it, the dream will become reality.

Re: What's your dream truck?

In a way, I'm working on my "dream truck" right now also.....it's a 1972 Stepside with wheel on side, 250 inline, 3 speed manual on column, 4:11 positive traction.

Now as much as I love the looks of the two-tone painted fleetsides....if I had the money...I'd get a 1967 or 1968 long wheel base stepside with wheel on side, have it lengthened further and turned into an extended cab. 283 or 327 V8, 4 speed in floor with AC, positive traction rear end (but a higher gearing that a 4:11), and just all done up nice.
