Folding Seat in a 70?

Hi All. I am getting ready to install the interior in my 70 as soon as it cools down a bit. I was wondering if there is a way to make the seat fold without losing stock appearance. I have seen that 67-68 do fold but can I get the 70 to fold? I thought I'd do this prior to putting the cover on.

I did a search but didn't find anything on it. I'll keep trying other terms in the search.

Thanks in adavance for suggestions.

Vince

Re: Folding Seat in a 70?

Problem is the "stock appearance" as the later, non-folding seatbacks extend the seatback cover down over the attachment arms and wrap around the seat. If you convert the seat to a folding style the cover needs to be modified (basically cutoff) and finished out exposing the arm. Might look for an earlier folding seat to steal parts off of and modify yours. Remember it is more than leaving out the top bolts and the seat back does not latch. IIRC some of the later square bodies had folding seatbacks that did latch and that is where I would start looking.
