Air bag question
I have ran into a suspension problem and figured I 'd ask the experts. I've almost finished my ride tech kit on my 68 SWB, pretty easy until today. I ran into problems with the lower control arm's hitting the drivers side header, not sure what kind they are. Did anybody else run into this problem and if so what are some ways around it. I'm looking at shorty headers, block huggers or maybe a mid length. Any help would be appreciated. Its from Ride Tech and is the stage 2 kit.
Thanks, Allen |

Re: Air bag question
Just a 350, 5.7L. I'm leaning towards the Sanderson headers. I'm making a few calls tomorrow and will then talk to CINC House. That's sad I have to do that when its her truck I'm working on. I'll look at the BBK's. do you notice any difference with the shorty's, sound or performance?

Re: Air bag question
Depends how bad they hit you could dimple the header if its not bad.

Re: Air bag question
Thought about that and the bolt would clear but I think the bushing would be to close to the heat.

Re: Air bag question
Pulled the trigger on the Sanderson shorty headers yesterday. Looking forward to that install and finishing the suspension. Thanks for the advice guys.

Re: Air bag question
What's the part number on the Sanderson headers? How low is your drop?

Re: Air bag question
CC11 and the drop will vary. The truck is still on blocks. I did just jack the rear axle all the way to the bump stops and that is very low. The axle is close to even with the original part of the frame. If I had cut my bed up and probably removed the inner fenders up front I could lay frame, not my style though. Once I'm done I will post pics of the work.

Re: Air bag question
Thanks for the info, check out Bennett-GL4 Build he is using the Hedman Elite 68618. I was thinking of buying a set of those. I actually shouldn't have a issue with my drop but might as well get some that work if I decide to go lower.
