new age frame swap
So my father and I were driving back from a mustang pick and had the idea to place a 67-72 Swb Chevy on a new Swb Silverado or GMC. Has anyone done this if so what are some problems faced? Any wheel base issues? Our thinking was finding one with a 5.3 and drive till body work on old school truck done and put the old school truck on New age frame with new technology. Any input from people?

Re: new age frame swap
Sounds like a cool idea, I'm sure it's been done before.

Re: new age frame swap
That would be ideal, nice old truck as a daily driver and dependability of a new truck.

the width of the frames is different from what I have read. that was as far as I got with the idea.

Re: new age frame swap
nobolt: Yes that's what i have seen, and once i looked further i found that the 00-05 four door tahoe and yukon are only 1" difference so i may go that route and attempt to not change any frame/drivetrain work so i am able to order the cheaper more dependable parts for a yukon.
67C10rustbuket: I read through the first thread and it was by far the most helpful link i have seen on the site. The others i have not torn into yet but this was greatly appreciated. I am still on the hunt for the intial truck to start with as i can not find one that i feel is the fit. Keep the comments coming i am still on the search.
