Upgraded to a 4 Core in my 67 2wd
My Engine temps, especially at idle, were reaching 210-220. I never experienced any performance issues but didn't like how hot my truck was getting. I upgraded to a 4 core radiator and performed a good system flush. In my previous attempts to run cooler I installed a 165 Therm. That helped but the radiator upgrade was huge. My truck runs a lot cooler but I want to finish it off by adding the correct shroud. I'm pretty happy with the results and if I can shroud my system maybe I can go back to the 180-195 Therm for the winter.
After a couple weeks of local junkyard hoping and playing phone a friend or two, i'm in need of a good radiator shroud. Has anyone tried the LMC ones? When I look at their list of shroud's I don't see the Heavy Duty SB Option. Unless its the # 32-2828 one, which appears to be the big block option. I'm running without a shroud atm and would like to get the correct one installed. I'm running a SB 350 with a non-clutch fan. No Ac with a 4 core copper core radiator. My original shroud is in great condition but i'm seeing the same issues as other people. Big gaps between the upper radiator clamps and shroud. Big Gaps on the side and lower clamp sections. My next option is going to be shimming my current shroud all the way around. If that looks too ghetto ill keep pounding some OT until I can buy a slick electric fan setup. Which is my least preferred option. Anyway, thanks again for any positive advice.
