71 outer grill shell recommendation
My truck is finally off to paint, so now I am focused on getting the trim ready. I brought my outer shell to a metal shop for Anodizing and they said it would be over $300. That puts me in replacement mode. Any suggestions on aluminum vs. chrome and the best place to purchase? I am not sure if they are all selling the same thing so I look at price, or is one providers better than the others. Thanks, Rou

Re: 71 outer grill shell recommendation
If there is nothing wrong with yours except the anodizing I suggest stripping and polishing it. That is what I did. Do a search here for grill shell resto or something of that type for more info.

I can't download a photo from my phone, but here is a link to a photo of mine, post 172. I think it turned out ok. I could polish it more but ran out of energy!

Re: 71 outer grill shell recommendation
The grill is scratched, but not too dented. I have the Anodize remover, so I will take a shot at removing and polishing. Thanks for the responses!

Where did you get the anodize remover?
