Towing after C section

Hi guys,
Are any C10 owners towing with rear chassis mods including C sectioning to lower the truck? My 72 has been done but not with a bolt in kit. Rather its been hotrodded with what looks like a solid 1/4" welded 1/2 tube to give the axle clearance along with extra boxed chassis plates either side of the tube.

It looks strong enough with good workmanship,I just wanna know if anyone tows here with a bolt in kit- Id figure what I have here is stronger than that? Has anyone heard of the chassis having issues towing once C sectioned for lowering?

cheers Dave

ps long time lurker,1st post!.

You're calling your truck a c10, but it looks like 8 lug wheels on there. Looks like someone built a short bed 3/4 ton truck if that's the case.

How long ago was the C-section done? I'm no doctor but wouldn't recommend over exerting yourself until it's completely healed, might blow the stitches out and wind up in the emergency room!

lol I clicked on this just because I too wanted to see what was up. I also thought C-section, as in, just had a baby.

Re: Towing after C section

Logically, if it's done "correctly" then that would mean it's as strong as original which would be great to tow. The key is if it IS as strong as the orig frame was. I think you're OK to tow.

Yes it depends who did it and how it was done.
