Anyone familiar with FedEx Custom Critical for covered auto transport service?
I'm trying to line up a transporter to deliver both my 72 K20 and 72 Blazer from New Mexico up to Montana and heard about FedEx Custom Critical auto transport (http://www.fedex.com/us/services/cus...ical/passport/). Any members used their service or know of someone who has? I couldn't find them discussed on other auto transporter threads. Reliable Carriers (http://www.reliablecarriers.com/contact-us/) is the other service I'm considering. Thanks, Pete

I haven't used them for auto transport but we use FedEx Custom Critical a lot at the plant I work at, I would highly recommend them to anyone, their service is second to none, I don't remember ever having a problem with them and they are always on time.

The owner of the resto shop working on my K20 told me he had a genuine FedEx branded truck pick up a vehicle, which is how I got this whole idea....

Re: Anyone familiar with FedEx Custom Critical for covered auto transport service?
We have used Fedex custom critical at work to ship some pretty expensive things ($1 million+) and they have never let us down. We supplied them dimensions of what we were shipping, time requirement, distance, and they had a configured truck at our front door next day. They have sent everything from soft top drop side trucks to full blown 18 wheel transporters that handled our larger moves. That being said, these were custom configurations and Fedex was very interested in having and keeping our business.
We have been using Fedex for almost nine years and will continue to do so because of their track record with us. Also; every truck they send had "fedex" on the side which made us all feel a bit better. I believe they do not lease out their shipments.

Re: Anyone familiar with FedEx Custom Critical for covered auto transport service?
Fedex bought out horseless carriage fron new jersey a few years back...any carriers enclosed or open Is insured. I've hauled maybachs and lambos coast to coast on an open carrier..I lied..its passport auto transport..not horseless carriage that fedex bought..

Re: Anyone familiar with FedEx Custom Critical for covered auto transport service?
Thanks all! I spoke w the "FedEx" folks and it is exactly as parkinglot describes: FedEx sold that part of their business to Passport Auto Transport, which hauls with their own rigs rather than farming the job out. The quote I received from Reliable is about $800 less. The height of my 4wd trucks adds to the expense as they can't stack another vehicle on top save for maybe an MGB. I'll likely go w Reliable.
