Funny painting experience

Long time follower, not much of a poster, but I thought yall would get a laugh out of this. After over 100hrs of bodywork on my dually bed I had it perfect (in primer), needed to haul off trash a couple weeks ago, blew the inside right dual & completely took out the right fiberglass fender & managed to dent the heck out the entire right bedside rendering all of my bodywork useless.

So I pulled the bed off to put a flatbed on & decided to go ahead & paint the cab while the bed was off. So I enlisted my wife's help to scuff everything up & shoot it, and she was 100% ready to help! Because she was really into the project for once I let her pick out the paint color, and this is where I went wrong. The color she picked out is a very ugly shade of green, closely resembling a '80s plumber truck color!

She loves the color so I'm going to leave it and learn to love it, but guys be darn careful when you ask for help! Lol. (And yes I installed new cab light lenses after painting, these were cracked so I just painted over them)

Man that sucks! I personally like the green. Kinda like the military truck colors. I love my flatbed. Just sucks when i have something small and don't want it falling out so gotta make a "tailgate"

Re: Funny painting experience

Yeah I'm looking forward to the flatbed as well. I have one of those 2ton hyd dump bed kits from Northern on my old '93 F350 that I pulled off it and I'm going to install it on the flatbed so I'll have a dumping flatbed for firewood, dirt, etc.

I kinda like the green also, but I think a white roof would really make it pop.

U need to drive around rocking out to that son John deer green. I know it's not exactly the color but ppl will get it. It's ok though, it doesn't look like if u slam the door hard enough the wheels will fall off. So points for that!

I think it is great you are so easy going about things. I wish I had that temperament! With the will of God I am getting much better at letting things go.

Re: Funny painting experience

The remaining dually fender is worth about $250 if its in good shape.

Sorry about the color, that's uglier than a man's a$$. But if she likes it, you're stuck with it.
