I can't believe this

So I saw this C60 Viking today '59, duelly, beautiful. I went in and asked the person if they were selling it, said yes, got all the paper work done, and then at the end of it all, he said he wasn't going to sell it and take it to the scrapper instead. I couldn't believe it. I was so sad to see one of those truck go to the scrap yard......just a sad day.... and i didn't get the truck :-(

That's pretty strange. Did he say why he changed his mind?

Re: I can't believe this

What hassle? He already did everything, just had to take your money. That's a hassle? The hassle would become all yours at that point. I truly don't understand how some minds work. Evidently that one had no conscience. Me,I'd rather see one saved than scraped. That is enough to make it worth any so-called hassle.

Re: I can't believe this

I would have much rather dealt with the hassle than seen a perfectly restorable truck go to rhe scraper. It had its issues, bit could have easily been fixed

Re: I can't believe this

Yeah, that's what gets me. He had a buyer willing to take it on,so what's the hassle? Heck, you would have the hassle of hauling it off and he wouldn't have the hassle of hauling it in for scrap. Duh?

Re: I can't believe this

Check your local scrap yards. I'm an ATHS member and we get a bi-monthly magazine with free classified section. I'll keep my eye on that for you. Most stuff is right reasonable. Actually, you could check their website: www.aths.org . Nothing like that in the latest issue

Re: I can't believe this

so it turns out the owner decided to pull the motor and then scrap the rest of it. A friend of mine happened to run into what was left of the truck when he went to the junk yard....guess i will call up there and see if they want to sell it to me

Re: I can't believe this

He could have just been frank with you an told you why he didn't want to sell it. Not like its that hard to tell someone why they changed there mind. I've done that in the past and people were happier knowing why I decieded not to sell it than just leaving them clueless. What the big hassle about selling something????

Be cool to see you get it, motorize it, restore it and then show it off to the dum bugger...
then ask if he's interested in a nicely restored ($$$$) truck!
