Exclamation Headlight Issues

If anybody can help id appreciate it. I drive a 69 gmcand Ive had issues with my headlights for a little while but now when im driving i turn them on and 5 secs later they go off. I dont know if its time or the switch but i press the high beam switch on and off repeatedly and eventually they com back on, only to go off again. Does anybody know the solution for this? Could it be a grounding issue or a loose connection?

Re: Headlight Issues

in the headlight switch there is a circuit breaker. It sound like its tripping. You may have a shorted wire in the headlights or a bad light switch.

Re: Headlight Issues

could be ground, could also be loose or corroded connections. I had a similar issue with my 66 Chevelle, ended up being the high/low switch was the problem. they would go out and if I banged on the switch they would come back on.

Re: Headlight Issues

At first the low beams wouldnt work but the high beams worked no problem. Now with the highs messing up is it safe to say it wiuld be a switch rather than a shorted wire? Also before this issue when lights were working it would take passenger light a moment to come on like it had to warm up or something.
