Have I got this right?
Still mocking stuff up and I'm not sure about the Door sill rubbers on my 50 AD
Do I need to spread the metal retainer for the rubber to slide in? Then when retainer is fastened does it crimp enough to hold rubber in.Cant find any pics and assy manual doesn't give enough info...

OK, I think you have a mis-match of parts here. The retainer looks the same as my '47 but the rubber seal looks like the later style which uses a different retainer.

That's the wrong sill retainer for your truck. It should be a fairly basic L-shaped one and the rubber is pinched underneath it.
