what is the best radiator to buy!

So i found out i have at carbureted LS1 motor. it also has a cam in it, but still trying to find out what kind it is. I am interested in buying a aluminum radiator with electric fans because I live in Las Vegas and im afraid the heat may be to much. I have found some 2 tubed radiator with 1 in. tubes may be better than those with 3 or 4 rows that have smaller tubes. The truck should have about 400 to 500 horsepower by the time i get done. but i want to get the proper radiator right now. any help would do. thanks

Re: what is the best radiator to buy!

We are a Gold Vendor here, and we make hand-made aluminum crossflow radiators that are drop-in (no fabrication or cutting required) right here in the USA, with US-sourced materials. No epoxy, no plastics, and TIG welded. Our units are 2 core, utilizing 1" thick cores each, for a total thickness of 2" at the cores (same thickness as a traditional 4-core brass & copper). We started a thread in the vendor section, where you can read about our set-up along with pricing and member discounts:

Surface area of the fins on the rad determines the heat transfer rate, not the diameter of the tubes. Four tubes, no matter what the diameter will have more fin area than any two tube rad. I use a BeCool 4 tube aluminum rad and an twin 16 in fan on my 67. Here in Tucson in the summer (100 days above 100 degrees) I never any overheating problems. The big block in my truck is cranking out about 650 HP so if a four row works on mine it should on yours.

Re: what is the best radiator to buy!

also be cautious of the depth of the radiator. We build ours with dual 1" thick cores, for a total thickness of 2". Much more than that, and you start bottle-necking the air as it passes into the core, and can cause the air to be forced around the radiator instead of through it.

Classic Industries has an aluminum sure fit for 339.00. I got one and haven't installed yet. Really nice construction. Made by US Radiator.

I have an aluminum radiator made by Wizard Cooling. Might right here in Western New York. They did an awesome job and I got a personal tour of their facility. Down to earth people and excellent product.

Re: what is the best radiator to buy!

Here's the US radiator. They cost less and I wish I could spent 5-600 dollars for the hefty ones.
