Re: help with ID
what do you guys think for this being a project car. Doesnt really match up with my 49 chevy but i do want to build a car next? i know shes a little rough but at least all the glass is there and all in with no cracks along with most of the chrome except for the chevy emblem. once i find out what the owner wants for it ill do a little more snooping on it to make sure the frame and everything is in good shape

Re: help with ID
53 will have pointy tail light, 54 vertical oval, can't remember if the grilles are different. Probably 235, three speed or pg. Better gearing for the highway than trucks.

Re: help with ID
Good grief you found my grandmother's old 54 Chevy sedan or it's identical twin right down to the white top and light green paint. I rode many many miles in the back seat of one that exact color combination that my grand parents bought new in 1954 and traded in their 48 fastback for.
It should have a pressure oiling 235 in it and either a powerglide or three speed. Just like the trucks up though 54 they had a closed driveline. If it was mine I'd just slick it out, put a nice but not over the top paint job on it and a decent interior and drive the wheels off it. That is a car that four people can take a real road trip in and be comfortable to boot.
