Re: First Thread! My 72 project

Dual Flex-a-lite fans ordered today as well as full wiring harness for entire truck. Should have all the major stuff needed to have her driveable once she's out of the body shop! ..Any suggestions on brand of sound proof insulation stuff? I need stuff that will stick cause the inside of the cab floor will have spray on bed liner on it...Now saving up to have the drive shaft sent off, as well as Vintage Air kit, upholstery(seat and carpet), front windshield, and sound system...MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! ugh lol but it will be such an awesome truck when it's all done. I'll keep y'all updated as I can. body shop is taking forever. :/

Re: First Thread! My 72 project

I am wondering in one of the early post you had the passenger door welded in place, why? The build looks great and moving right along.

We put little weld holder spots trying to line up the gaps, rocker and body lines...but we ended up finding out that the driver's side was slightly twisted probably from a wreck, but now that it's fixed, the doors, rockers, cab corners and new floor all are fitting perfectly. And thanks, it's still a work in progress...by the looks of things, to be TOTALLY finished, in total, i think it's gonna end up taking 2 years...which, with what i started with, isnt all that bad i'd say

Re: First Thread! My 72 project

the exhaust looks wierd cause it's not connected to the motor right now and the cab is tilted a tad cause bolts werent long enough and having to get new ones so it's not bolted down yet, it's just sitting on the mounts in these pics

Re: First Thread! My 72 project

and the motor isn't in so that's why exhaust looks weird. but you can see how we shaved the tailgate handle and relocated it to the inside to give the smooth look all the way across. Cant wait to here what y'all think.

Re: First Thread! My 72 project

Final shots of her all done getting painted!! bringin her home to start the building and install process. Entire frame/axles/etc were also painted black but with a different type of paint that will hold up better. She looks amazing. Let me know what you think everyone
