Sport Bumper Gravel Shields

What color are the gravel shields supposed to be for white painted bumpers ,body color ,black ,or white ? After 2 1/2 years in the bodyshop they are finally making progress and are ready to paint the rear sport bumper white and need to know about the gravel shields ,I told them I thought they should be black but Im not really sure as mine were missing when I bought the truck.

Most I remember were body color. You can do whatever you like though. It's your call.

I always thought they were semi-gloss black. Thats what mine were originally.

I think you're right. Most repainted trucks have body color over spray on the factory black.I'd paint them black either way...unless going for 100% original. Figure black makes them go away to make a cleaner line, and they're nothing to show off.

Re: Sport Bumper Gravel Shields

Im thinking the used ones I bought here and misplaced were black ,so I will probably go black. The gravel shields go above the bumper brackets below the bumper ,really gives it a finished look. Thanks everyone.

They look like this Brian. They bolt to the top of the bumper brackets on a truck with a sport bumper and they are there to keep road grime that fly's off of the rear tires off of the tail gate.

If you don't drive on dirt or muddy roads, then you probably won't miss them being installed. It does make it complete though when they are there.

thanks TBone... is there a reproduction one available that you know of? I looked in the LMC catalog and couldn't find it.
