Stepside Bed questions
Someone told me that the box is the same from 60-77 the only differance is the fenders... is this correct... please let me know..
thanks if so do they all bolt up to any frames... i have a 68 chevy truck and found a 74 stepside, but i was going to buy it just for the box and sell the fenders |

I think the box is the same, the tailgates are.

The boxes on the 73 up are different! The step is about 4" higher where it mounts on the later models. You can add a filler piece and use the 67-72 steps, and re-drill for the fenders. I'm not sure on the earliers model sides though. Tailgates are the same from about 55 to 87 I believe.

Right,the bedsides are different due to the different step design (shorter front stanchion) and different fenders (different bolt hole pattern).

I have a set of nice straight rust free swb step bed sides that are off a 55-66 truck. They are the dimensionally the same as 67-72 except for the holes for mounting the fenders. My dad scored them last hear at the Pate swap meet at Texas Motor Speedway for $50/ pair!
