New Crate 350 Misfire
Hey everyone,
I've just installed a new GM crate 350 on a '67 c10. Got her started today and it's idling faster at 15 deg BTDC; when it's at 5 deg BTDC it seems to misfire and backfire through the carb (even runs on when motor has been turned off...seems also to be running hot). Any ideas? Been a long day trying to sort this out. Thanks! |

Re: New Crate 350 Misfire
Do you have the vacuum advance off and plugged when setting the timing? It will idle faster with more timing, you will just have to set the idle on your carb once you have the timing where you want it.

No, the VA has been on. I'll give a try to setting the timing with it off and plugged and then adjust the carb.

Also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks anywhere... LockDoc
