Best front bumper option for an 83?
Anyone have experience with aftermarket front bumpers for these trucks? Mine is in need of replacement and was wondering what the best one to get would be.

Re: Best front bumper option for an 83?
I needed one for my 83 also, but all of the aftermarket bumpers I researched had negative comments about the chrome flaking off (including the "premium" bumpers from LMC and Classic Parts.) I read that they are all from China. So, I found a bumper from an 82 in very good shape and I am using that one.
I now have two used OEM bumpers from 83-87 vintage I bought until I found this 82 bumper I like better. I have them for sale on Craigslist locally for $25 each. They have no rust or dents but have some scratches, so if you just need a straight driver quality bumper with good chrome, pm me for details. |

If you got the cash get a oem one rechromed or find a oem one in great shape.

The price I got locally to rechrome my front bumper was $350, and that was not "show qualilty."

Sounds like you can drop the cash to get the OEM bumper rechromed, or buy an aftermarket replacement and drop the money to get that one rechromed when it starts falling apart.

Re: Best front bumper option for an 83?
I'd get mine rechromed, but it has a giant dent in it

Try talking to advanced plating i know they can fix any dents and rechrome any bumper but its not cheap.
