Headlights / Taillights quit working

While I was driving home last night, my headlights, taillights, dash lights and dome lights suddenly quit working. Brake lights and hazard lights still work though.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did the problem turn out to be?

I think the fuses are obvious, but I beleive all of those items are tied into the headlight switch. Failure of the swtich?

I'd go with headlight switch as well.

Thanks for the replies. I removed the switch and checked for voltage at the connector and there was none at the big red wire. So I started checking the wire loom between the battery and firewall and found the problem. A previous owner had used insulation piercing crimp connectors. I got rid of that and properly soldered it and that solved the problem.
