Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

I went to a junk yard and found a 67 with some good parts on it. Driver fender has zero rust. What are some other 67 only things to grab off it before it gets crushed? I thought I remembered the door handles being different? The air vents?

And what is the fender worth?

Re: Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

Take that steering wheel. It's specific to 67/68, but will fit 67-72, and is worth $50-$75. The rear view mirror is 67/68 specific (assuming it hasn't been replaced), as are the door handles. That glovebox door is cool, being black. If it has an emblem, those are 67/68 specific. The list goes on and on. Front clip, side emblems, etc. Those cab Lights might be worth something. Not sure if they are different than later years

The driver fender and grill are the only good pieces. The passenger fender is smashed and the hood is rusted in the front and has a dent in it.

What is the driver fender worth? Don't want to pay more than what the yard wants.

Re: Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

Those are 68-72 vent windows but a 67 cab. Maybe the doors were swapped or a late production?? I would get the 67 only ignition switch spacer and bezel. 67-68 cluster and glove box door. Any 67 knobs and the steering wheel, lighter, ash tray, visor clips, rear view mirror, some people pay good money for those outside mirrors too. fender, grille, core support, I could go on and on. Lots of 67 only and 67-68 specific parts there. I think fenders are $100-$200 if rust free but that's what I want to pay maximum, I have seen people pay silly money for rust free fenders, especially 67 fenders.

Re: Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

The 67 Doors are different than other years... they do not have the screw hole below the Vent window... That whole front clip is worth taking... The small back window is the only year it is offered in this body style... like they have already stated... the 67 is kind of a 1 off truck...

Re: Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

I agree on grabbing what you can of the front clip. the vent windows look like they have newer style handles on them. I would guess that the transmission is the sm 420 that the offroad community likes but that is a bit more work. May as well grab the good handles and knobs that are easy to get out.

Re: Special things to look for on a 67 to pull off?

There are actually 3 different doors: 67 only,68-71,72 only. While minor differences people pay for "correct" doors. The only way to tell if they are indeed 67 doors and therefore exterior handles is to pull the door panels and look at the access holes to remove/install the handles. If i remember correctly 67 will have round holes where 68-72 has a teardrop shaped hole. The bolt on the interior skin under the vent window is a 72 only thing.

Get the lower thermostat housing. They like to crack and are not reproduced. I sold a couple of those.

Yeah I'd like to have the front end. Shame it's in Maryland.
