Compression looks fine. I will put money on it, that one of the push rods lines right up with the unbaffled hole to your breather, and is shooting oil right up it. Yes, you should make sure you get a set of valve covers high enough to clear those high buck roller rockers, but make sure it has a baffle to divert the oil away from the breather opening, or I don't think the situation is going to change. There's nothing wrong with a high volume/high pressure oil pump...as long as you can keep the oil in the engine. A high pressure oil pump WILL NOT create high blow by pressure, which is the most common cause of your leakage, but seeing the pic of your current valve cover, I will bet money the oil is going right up the breather pipe. Do not plug the breather hole...that can cause more pressure inside the block. The breather is there for a reason, just get the oil away from it.

Hi,
Don't overlook something as simple as the PCV Valve. A defective PCV Valve can cause excessive crankcase pressure and cause all kinds of oil leaks (from valve cover gaskets to the rear main-seal). Terry |

Something simple that people tend to forget is oil viscosity. If the oil has a high viscosity number it flows harder and in the colder months it may not drain back to the pan as well as in the summer, at least until engine warm up. The other thing is to look for any blockage on the drain holes in the heads to make sure the oil has a clear path back to the pan. Sometimes there are casting edges that can block flow, or even just sludge in the holes.

I have heard of too much oil pressure washing out bearings.I have not actually seen this happen.I would think the bypass spring would open, causing other problems.
You seem to have good compression #s so I would think blowby would be the least likely cause of oil coming out the oil breather.
