71-72 Center Link
Are the center links for a 71-72 GM 1/2 ton 2wd truck a reproduction item? I have spent a couple of hours on the internet looking and cannot find any, so I presume there are not a reproduction item. Am I correct?? Also am I correct that 71-72 had different control arms that other models or will other models fit?
If used is the only source where can I find one? Thanks Larry |

Re: 71-72 Center Link
As far as I know the 71-72 specific centerlink is not reproduced.
The 67-72 a-arms are the same withe the exception of the C20/C30 lowers. They have a larger balljoint hole than the C10 version. Just make sure you install the correct balljoints for the year of spindle that you are using. What exactly are you doing? Disc brake swap?

Re: 71-72 Center Link
Keith- we are restoring a 72 back to original and the center link is MIA now. I either put it in a safe place where I would not forget where it was (yea right) or a big black dog carried it off- cause its no where to be found and now I have a nickel holding up a dollar. I have all the other original parts - just do have center link.
Thanks |

Re: 71-72 Center Link
FYI, when I got my truck the centerlink was installed upside down (yeah, it goes together). You'll know because when turning the wheel all the way the outside wheel will turn in too much. Normal driving is unaffected.
I only found out the solution by some observant guys on this site who noticed in a picture. |

Re: 71-72 Center Link
The a-arms for 71-72 1/2 tons are different than 70 and earlier. The turn stop surface is different. So you need to be careful to know the differences.
