My powdercoater charges $375 for a frame which is blasted prior to powdering. I would think just for blasting that is a little high.

What is stated here does make good sense, but it's not for everyone. I want to do everything I can myself. I am in no hurry, and I don't count my hours, as I enjoy working on the truck as much for a hobby as anything. I've sandblasted my entire truck, from the frame up to the body panels with a 40lb pot blaster from Harbor Freight. It takes a lot of time, it's messy and not really what I would call fun, but I have no regrets having done it.
