72 c20 pretty neat story.

OK.so a while back i acquired a 72 chevy c20 for free. big block lmost fully optioned truck. prestine body. the 402 was just completely gone and rusted solid.(oh well )
well it was 2 streets over on a friends property. After bugging him, he got ahold of his buddy that owned it. he gave me the truck, and shipped the title to me.(lives and works on oil derriks or something)
a few months later (now) i took a close look at the title, and realized he signed it off as he was the buyer so it wasnt an open title. he is not accessible at all anymore, and its still in the previous owner(before him)'s name.never transferred to his.
So, after hours and hours of google work and calling multiple multiple numbers with high hopes, i got ahold of the guys dad.

after explaining the situation, the guy was extremely surprised.turns out he was the ORIGINAL owner that bought it nerw in 72 and ordered the options on the truck specifically.he gave me his sons number ( whos name its in)

i called his son, who i guess bought it from his dad when he was 17 ( 47 now) and rearended a guy lightly in highschool in the passenger front. the guy almost died on the phone with excitement. i ended up speaking with him for hours about the truck and he agreed completely to get a duplicate title today and mail it over and called abselout first dibs whenever i wanna sell it.says hes into drag boats and old truck. pretty cool! the guy he sold it to ( who gave it to me) just hit him at the right time in his life.

so now im sending them current pics of the truck and there gonna mayube send over some original pics of the truck back in the day.and hopefully they have some original paperwork.

i just thought it was a pretty cool situation and i would share with you guys. so cool knowing its never been abused and have a full complete history from 72 up on it. no bondo what so ever.and ill keep my word that when or if i decide to sell the truck sometime, the guy will definately have first dibs completely. he only lives 200 miles from me. been in az its entire life

I'm not too far away, can I have 2nd dibs?

Yes that is a neat story. It was nice that you got to get history on the truck from 2 generations too.
