Floor Mats

Did the 67-72 truck originally come with floor mats from the factory? When I got my truck it didn't have floor mats in it. Does anyone know where I can find some floor mats that'll look good for these 67-72 year trucks. The mats at the stores around here look too cheesy to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Floor Mats

The '73-87 trucks had throw in floor mats available (RPO B33).

You might see if you could locate a set of those (either repop'd or used).

Re: Floor Mats

My 70 had these floor mats that appear to be original and have the scroll pattern like the door and upholstery; no part number on the mats.

Re: Floor Mats

No mats from the factory. I bought a set of ACC (Auto Custom Carpet) 80/20 loop mats (original style carpet) from rockauto.com for my 69. They are a period correct generic pattern. I needed to modify them slightly to accommodate the floor mounted accelerator. If you have a 71 or 72, they'd fit great.

Re: Floor Mats

My '68 Stepside was only 5 years old when I bought it in '73. It was an obvious fleet model ''stripper'' and only had the lined rubber mat [over tarred jute below] that went from door to door and over the hump, and ran from the firewall to just under the seats. The OEM was well made and lasted for years. I put in a repop about 8 or 10 years ago, and it's shot already. As far as the removable mats on driver and passenger sides, no. Not standard, but maybe available on trucks with deluxe trim levels.

Re: Floor Mats

I don't know of any factory mats and I'm always looking for later GM "rubber" mats. In my opinion carpet mats are worthless and I agree.the rubber ones offered these days are cheezy

I got my reproduction vinyl flooring from site vendor Capt Kaos; it's been 5 years of daily use with no sign of wear.

These are the right mats for Chevrolet ( my dad had these in his 67 2nd owner)
seen them in 4 other survivor trucks hear in NC ( ITS my understanding most cars and trucks had these in this time frame )

Now Gmc there tricky I have no clue ( I've done searches and studies on what came in them and the dealer pamphlet a set but they look like normal mats and cant tell if there is any kind of stamp in them )

These are exactly what my original 69 Camaro has in them. I believe them to be dealer mats and will fit a several types of cars. There are score lines on the back to cut for various models. You can find reproductions at many of the Camaro resto sites.
