Cherokee rear shocks for TF trucks?

Just a thought.
The travel numbers (12 1/4 compressed, 20 1/4 extended) and vehicle weights (about 3400 lbs) line up pretty damn close between an 84-01 Jeep Cherokee and a 55-59 Chevy 3100 / 3200. The mountings are almost perfect - you'd have to press a bar pin out of one end of each Cherokee shock. Note that the rear shocks from a Cherokee will work, the fronts have a different mounting type.

With POL charging $90 a corner for Bilsteins (which isn't bad, btw) I had to look around a little. You can get all sorts of shocks for Cherokees, including KYB Bilstein Monroe and Gabriel just to name a few. As cheap as $20 a corner.

For original ride height or lifted, I think this is a win.

Re: Cherokee rear shocks for TF trucks?

I used some shocks for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer on the back of my 55, they fit perfectly.

Re: Cherokee rear shocks for TF trucks?

Mine ended up being the same as the donor truck (74K10) with a 4" lift. I obvoiusly had to modify the frame mounting brackets on both ends.
