The block is listed as either 2 or 4 bolt main. With the oval heads, I'd bet it is a 2 bolt. It sure is clean inside. It would probably be a nice one to go through Zoomy.

I run those 702's on the 427 in the Chevelle. Closed chamber, 98cc, 2.06/1.72 valves. Mine are not stock (2.18/1.88 valves, port/bowl work), but they run great on the engine

so the numbers TO425EF6 F13388 tells where the engine was built from originally? and what type of truck it came from? Cause my motor is a 350 but came from s new model and I am nto sure exactly what yr it came from. my grandpa's brother died before he could tell anyone what yr it came outta.

396

If it was a 427 I would've snapped it up, but IMO a strong 350 is pretty close to a 396 if you take into account the weight penalty. If I'm going with a big block weight penalty I want enough extrea cubes to make up for it. Randy has several 454's there. If he has a clean one, I'll buy it. My guess is that 396 was recently gone thru being that clean. That impressed me too. If it has a grunch of miles on it, then somebody took meticulous care of it on the inside at least......ZZ
