1950 Chevy Truck S-10 frame Motor

I am putting my 1950 Chevy Truck onto a 1980's S-10 longbed truck. I picked up a chevy 350 out of a 1973 Camaro to put in the truck and wanted recommendations on a manual transmission. Does anyone have experience doing this swap or with a similar setup?

I did one. Used a 350/350 combo though.

What did you do for motor mounts?

Re: 1950 Chevy Truck S-10 frame Motor

I used a 327 with th350 for my swap. For motor mounts I used S10 mounts for the 4.3 6 cyl that was available for the S-10. Bolted right up to my 327. After fitting the motor/trans where I wanted it in engine compartment, I tack welded the mounts to the frame, lifted the motor out and finished the welding. Then reinstalled the motor/trans. Really not too difficult. I'm sure using a manual trans would be about the same.
